The Foundation stones were laid for two PIYAWARA Pre-Schools in the Monargala District last week. The 42nd school will be built in a rural village in Mahasenpura which is under the Buttala Divisional Secretariat.

At present over 25 students are located in a temporary shelter and most children in the area do not attend a pre-school due to lack of facilities. The second school is located in Dehikindagama in Monaragala area. There are over 25 children sheltered in a temple as a short term measure to address the need of a pre-school in the area. Both these locations will now be blessed with a fully-equipped PIYAWARA Community pre-school sponsored by Kögler, Horn, Döppers and Mühmel, Germany and Der Touristik Germany supported by Reiner Meutsch Stiftung FLY & Help. We expect the construction to be completed by December 2017.
