Hemas Outreach Foundation operates as a trust with the intention of creating an inclusive world where no child is left behind. Our aim is to help disadvantaged children across the island to provide world-class pre-school education and improve the lives of differently-abled children with high-quality therapeutic intervention and eradicating stigma related to disabilities.
As of today, the collective efforts of the foundation have been able to positively impact more than 70,000 lives of children and families in need across the country. We continue to thrive in achieving our common objective with the help and contribution of public sector bodies such as the Ministry of Women & Child Affairs and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Kelaniya which ensures the sustainability of our initiatives. Hemas Outreach Foundation receives its funding from Hemas Holdings PLC, which is one of the leading conglomerates in Sri Lanka, and from Der Touristik, Fly & Help Germany through our business partners across the world. The foundation is initiated and managed as a trust by an eminent board of trustees and audited by EY Sri Lanka.

Abbas Esufally is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, and, is an all-island Justice of the Peace. He is a Group Director of Hemas Holdings PLC and also serves as the Honorary Consul General of Bhutan in Sri Lanka.

Shaktha has many years of experience in Strategy Development, Business Restructuring, Risk and Governance, International Finance and People Development. He was previously Regional Audit Controller (Asia Pacific) for British American Tobacco (BAT). He has more than 20 years’ experience with BAT having performed senior finance roles for the Group in Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom, and also being the Finance Director of BAT Operations in the Czech Republic, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Japan and Malaysia (IT Shared Services Organisation).
Shaktha is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK and a Member of CPA Australia.

Jude has more than 27 years of experience in varied industries with more than 12 years as Business Head/CEO. He started his career at Royal Ceramics in finance. Jude joined Hemas FMCG as Commercial Manager and was promoted to Supply Chain Director in 2006. He was a Director/CEO of Kotmale Holdings and CEO of Janashakthi. Jude is a Fellow Member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, a Fellow Member of Association of Certified Chartered Accountants, a Member of Chartered Institute of Marketing and has an MBA from University of Wales. Jude has attended many Executive/Management Development Programmes including courses in Stanford Graduate School of Business & INSEAD.

Currently the Hon. President of the Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka. She is the Vice-Chair of the AIDS Foundation of Lanka and a Council Member of the Sri Lanka Medical Association. She is also a Trustee of the Neelan Tiruchelvam Trust and the Children’s Heart Project of Sri Lanka. She was a former Chairperson of the Concept Foundation located in Geneva, Switzerland. She was the Assistant Director General of the International Planned Parenthood Federation, UK, a post she held for over 15 years. Dr. Senanayake is also the Founder and Chairperson of the Educate a Child Trust.

Served as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand from 2015 to 2019, while being concurrently accredited to Lao. Appointed Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs in January 2014, subsequent to having served as Additional Secretary of the Ministry from July 2011, Ambassador & Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in Geneva from 2008 to 2010 and also as High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the UK with concurrent accreditation to Ireland from 2005 to 2008. Also served as the Deputy High Commissioner in the UK from 2002-2004, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Sri Lanka Embassy to Belgium & the European Union in Brussels from 1996 to 1999 and First Secretary in the Permanent Mission to the UN in New York from 1988 to 1990. Has been a member of the Sri Lanka delegation to the UN General Assembly sessions, UN Human Rights Council sessions, Non Aligned Summit and Commonwealth Heads of Government meetings on a number of occasions.
In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, has served as the Director General/Economic Affairs, Director/UN & Multilateral Affairs and Political Affairs (West) and Assistant Director/Public Communications.
A graduate in Economics from the University of Salford, UK and subsequently a MA in International Relations from the University of Colombo. A Chevening Scholar at the University of Oxford for postgraduate studies in International Relations. An officer of the Sri Lanka Foreign Service from 1985 to 2020. Serving as the Senior Adviser to the President on International Media since July'22.

Avanti Esufally is a board member of Learn for Life Lanka, which works with students, parents and teachers to encourage the adoption of socio-emotional learning in communities around the country. She is also a member of the Advisory Panel of Dhow Foundation, a philanthropic organisation which focuses on fostering social cohesion and inter-ethnic harmony in Sri Lanka. Shiromi Masakorala is graduated in General Psychology and holds an Advanced Diploma in Child Psychology and Counselling Psychology. A member of the Sri Lanka National Counsellors Association, she also serves in the National Committee on Early Childhood Care and Development, the policy making body of the Ministry of Child Development and Women’s Affairs. She was also a Director of the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) of Sri Lanka and a member of the Executive Board of Mother Sri Lanka. She was a General Manager of Group Sustainability and Corporate Communications at Hemas Holdings PLC.
